Arcus

LEVO Food Production Washdown Station

Arcus recently supplied a LEVO Food Production Washdown Station to Meadowfresh Foods, based in Tallow, Ireland, who first contacted us in early 2021. They discussed issues they were having with their high pressure washdown system, and their interest in changing to a lower pressure washdown system for their food production areas.

Meadowfresh were building a new production room with a range of new equipment, and were highly reluctant to use a high pressure system due to the potential of damage to the equipment, and the lack of reliability. In addition, their existing high pressure system was producing poor foam quality and causing unwanted bacterial spread through aerosols. This is a major concern for any company looking to achieve or renew BRC accreditation.

Arcus were able to provide a LEVO Food Production Washdown Station as the perfect solution. It was extremely compact, required zero infrastructure changes and provided an excellent quality foam and rinsing power. The lower pressure also protects the equipment in the production room and greatly mitigates bacterial spread. The unit is extremely quiet, easy to use and much lower maintenance than a high pressure system.

The Meadowfresh Quality Assurance team reported that the machine was producing better and more consistent swab results than they had experienced elsewhere with the high pressure system, as well as having a much greater control of chemical consumption.

Meadowfresh were so pleased with the LEVO Food Production Washdown Station that they purchased a second LEVO shortly afterwards.

Arcus LEVO Food Production Washdown Station details:

The LEVO units provided to Meadowfresh both had 30 metre long hygienic hoses, stainless steel wash guns, retractable hose reels and enabled rinsing up to 6 bar of pressure. The LEVO body is designed with hygiene in mind, and the chemical concentration can be adjusted to ensure optimum use.

The installation process involved bringing the LEVO to its operating location by forklift or pallet truck, and connecting it to nearby power, water and compressed air ports. Small adjustments are needed to ensure the air and chemical dosing rates are correct relative to the facility’s water flow. A complete installation of the LEVO can be completed in under 2 hours, and can be relocated easily if required.

Arcus specialise in the design and manufacture of industrial washdown, spraying and cleaning solutions for a range of industries including Food & Beverage Production, Chemical Production, Marine, Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and many more across the UK, Ireland and worldwide.
